National Chair,

Australian Council for Private
Education and Training

On behalf of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET), I invite you to register for the ACPET 2013 National Conference in Adelaide on 29 and 30 August.

This year’s conference theme, ‘VET and Higher Education: the future is in the private sector’, reflects the increasing importance of private providers and the challenges they face.

The venue for the conference is the Adelaide Convention Centre on the banks of the River Torrens, in the heart of Adelaide. Adelaide has much to offer conference delegates, not least of which is its close proximity to the Adelaide Hills and nearby wine growing districts for those looking to take a mini-break.

ACPET’s national conference is the largest gathering of private and not-for-profit educators and trainers in Australia and provides a fantastic opportunity for networking and professional development. The event will feature a range of open discussions including Q&A style questioning, and dialogue to change programs provided by the The Australian Study Circles Network to assist with developing open discussion among attendees.

ACPET is Australia’s peak industry association for independent providers of tertiary education and training. We represent almost 1,000 members that offer higher education, vocational education, English tuition, language and foundation courses to Australian and international students.

Our mission is to enhance quality, choice, innovation and diversity in Australian education and training – this year’s conference will show how private providers are doing that. With a Federal election due only a fortnight after the conference this will be your best opportunity to hear what each side of politics is offering private providers, and to challenge them on their understanding of your business operations and needs.

The conference’s social program is designed to complement the professional development on offer at the conference. A welcome reception on Thursday night will allow you the chance to reconnect with old friends. On Friday night, the conference dinner will include the ACPET Awards for Excellence – make sure you join us in celebrating excellence amongst private providers.

I look forward to seeing you at the ACPET 2013 National Conference.
